Dear WMO,

I greatly enjoyed reading the article about Matthias Sperling and his eloquent thoughts about contemporary dance in the last issue. I was also impressed by Sperling's ability to recognize the important role that Kevin Bacon may play on the world stage as a cultural mediator. We Canadians are often too quick to rely on back bacon as a cure-all to our problems and I firmly believe that a little more Kevin and a little less back would do us all some good. You are lucky to have such insightful and resourceful artists in the United Kingdom.

Sincerely,

Vena Cobkin

Hello Editor.

First I must congratulate you on the compelling and inspiring viewpoints you've collaged from the cultural milieu. I do not type these words flippantly. That said, please answer this question for me: where, precisely, are we being wheeled out from? I'm wondering if your title is more of a geographical or metaphorical reference. Is it away from something, or toward a more poignant place? Please help.

With upmost respect and gratitude for all you do,

Sanchez de la puerto
